The hotel contains 19 comfortably furnished rooms, each one elegantly decorated in harmony with the carpets, curtains and fresh walls colors. History The Hotel was founded and passionately reconstructed by mountaineering pioneer Freddy Ramirez, who also hosts his famous agency in an adjacent building. That's why our hotel has been perfect starting point for countless travelers coming to Ecuador to spend their time enjoying Ecuador's amazing nature. Hotel Sierra Nevada welcomes you in its classical town house built in the early 1950s. Rebuilt in the 90s, the house's original beauty and charm was carefully restored and at the same time transformed into a modern tourist-class hotel. Hotel Sierra Nevada is considered to be part of Quito's architectonic heritage. Profile The hotel was opened in 1997 with the aim to accommodate and serve our selected customers traveling with Sierra Nevada Expeditions, which was founded in 1989. Since then, many tens of thousands of adventurers, mountaineers, honeymooners or business travelers came to seek a comfortable, safe and friendly place with us during their stay in Quito. But first and foremost it we provide a temporary home to tourists using our hotel as a base for their various trips into the jungle, on top of Mount Cotopaxi or a week on the Galapagos Islands . The hotel is a great place for getting advice from other fellow travelers. The hotel is dubbed 'Casa Alpina Austria' for its resemblance with many traditional mountain hotels in the alpine country. Owner Freddy Ramirez - a Quito native - spent many of his studying days at the renowned Klessheim Hotel Management School and, as a mountain guide, still keeps close ties to the large hiking community in the region. Our hotel is located at a silent and safe side street of the Mariscal district, just 15 minutes from Mariscal Sucre International Airport. Countless restaurants and bars are within short walking distance. The hotel is near the business center, and beautiful tourist attractions such as Quito's historic center, the first to be declared a Cultural Heritage of Humanity site by UNESCO.
